ALL OUR LODGES HAVE SUPER KINGSIZE BEDS, HOT AND COLD SHOWERS AND FANS

Floating Lodges

Constructed on-site using mahogany throughout, these are moored along the mangrove-covered banks of the tidal creek and is accessed by a bridge from the main rustic walkway. At low tide, the angle of access is quite steep so these lodges aren’t really suitable for guests with mobility difficulties. Facilities include:

King size bed with mosquito net
Exterior hot & cold shower
Lavatory uses biodegradable plastic operated mechanically with a foot pedal. It was impossible to run waste pipes under the mangroves but these are a very good alternative to a flush toilet.
Standing and ceiling fans
A private attached platform for relaxing or fishing (Bring your own rods etc. as we don’t provide them.)

Stilted Lodge

The largest of all overall, this is of wooden construction, similar to the floating lodges, but on stilts looking down the creek towards the floating lodges.

One super king-size bed with mosquito net
The exterior shower and lavatory are the same as the floating lodges
Ceiling and stand fans
Large shaded deck area
Upstairs day room with a bed and sunbathing platform

Jungle Lodges

Spaced evenly in the gardens, these lodges are huge.

All have inside flush lavatories with handbasin
Exterior shower with hot and cold water
Two ceiling fans
Front veranda with seating
One lodge has a super king-size bed
Two of the lodges have two super king-size beds with mosquito nets so are suitable for sharers as well as adult families.

Mangrove Lodge

Set on the edge of the gardens and backwater of the creek, this is a little smaller than the others and has a conical grass roof.

Indoor shower with hot and cold water
Indoor flush lavatory
Good size private terrace with shaded area, chairs and sun beds
Ceiling and stand fans

Meals

Because of our location our restaurant does not offer any buffets for either breakfast or dinner. We have waiter service only and, because of the distances between the lodges, we don’t provide room service. Also, food in the lodges attracts the attention of monkeys, baboons and insects. Quite often imported foods are unavailable in the Gambia, but in general, we can offer the following:

Breakfast

Fruit, juice, eggs, sausages, beans, tomato etc., bread, jam, honey, tea or coffee.

Lunch (Not included in room price)

A choice of sandwiches, burgers, omelettes etc.

Evening Meal (Three courses)

A choice of two starters, three main courses, two desserts. The evening menu, with European and a Gambian dish of the day, changes daily.
We can cater for vegetarians and vegans, although choices can be rather limited.
Guests with allergies should be aware that it is almost impossible to find specialist dietary foods in this part of the world.
